Where Australia and New Zealand's AI safety community connects to tackle its most pressing problems
Learn more · Looking for last year? AISUM25
AISUM is a one-day, application-only unconference for people already working on or seriously engaged with AI safety. Around 50 researchers, practitioners, and advocates from across Australia and New Zealand. Little '101' content: it's all 201+.
Connect with researchers, practitioners, and advocates across Australia and New Zealand. Build lasting professional relationships within the AI safety community.
Grapple with the thinking, research, and challenges at the frontier of AI safety. You'll need to be familiar with the field to get the most out of the day!
Make, hear, pitch, and test AI safety project ideas and find collaborators to make them happen. We're excited to help you scope, plan, and launch meaningful initiatives.
Much like a normal conference, except the agenda isn't set in advance. Attendees pitch the sessions they want to run (or want someone else to run), everyone votes, and the organisers build the program on the day. Come for the community and dynamism!
Applications for AISUM26 will open soon. Places are limited, so we run an application process rather than first-come-first-served. Tickets are priced to partly recoup venue and catering costs, with options to pay less if you need the support.
